Hair

So the other day, Titus got this fun little squishy, pokey rubber ball at a friend's birthday party. He was happily playing with it in the living room while I was making dinner when David ran into the kitchen screaming about Titus and his ball. I could hear Titus from the other room whimpering and saying "stuck". He had been thumb sucking and hair twirling with his pokey little ball in his hand and had gotten it stuck in his hair.

The whole thing got me thinking. He has long hair...our first daughter is on the way....I need ponytail practice with that super fine, baby hair...  Yeah, I did.

And then I sent that picture to his daddy at work with a message along the lines of "mwuahahahaha! You can't stop me". Daddy was not amused. Like how-dare-you not amused. There's-already-a-haircut-in-the-works not amused. Destroy-that-photo-or-else not amused. Daddies are so sensitive about their sons wearing ponytails. Yeesh.

Zucchini fights

Among things I've actually had to say today:
"Stop sword fighting with my zucchini!"

Ice cream

Is there any better way to spend the end of a 90-something degree day than face first in a bowl of chocolate ice cream? I think not.

spiders

Max:
"I just saw a spider while I was poopin' and it was a mad Mama spider! It couldn't be a kid spider 'cause it was scary and fast and that's like mamas. Mad mamas are SCARY and they move quick fast!!"

I'm baaaack!

I'm back and blogging again by popular demand for all 4 of you that asked.

Here's a little recap of what we've been up to the last several months....

I am 27 weeks pregnant with our baby GIRL! Miss Kira Lynn is due on October 11th. So far it's been a pretty great pregnancy - very little morning sickness, little weight gain {just 9 pounds so far}, no complications or medical problems. Kira looks great and is developing just fine. She is on track to match her brothers in birth weight and size, but we are hopeful that she'll slow down on that before she's born. :)

Titus is a big dude now. At 20 months he's 36" tall, 30 pounds, sleeping in a race car toddler bed and wanting to be potty trained. Where did the time go? I swear he was just born.

Max is 3 now and beyond excited to become a big brother again. He wanted a sister very much. He's looking forward to hugging her, cuddling her and having pretend tea parties. This buddy was made to have a little sister.

David turned 5 this summer and is feeling like quite a man now. He is convinced he is much stronger, faster, taller, funnier, smarter and more responsible than he was at 4. He has us checking his chin daily for beard growth and watching his heroic and astounding acts of strength {carrying gallons of milk across the kitchen and such}. He's also fully embracing dresses, ruffles and all things pink in anticipation of having a little sister. He wasn't quite as excited as Max was from the beginning, but he's gotten on board with the idea since our ultrasound in May.
