An update on car problems
The car situation worked out beautifully. We had someone come over with a car jack to put our donut on so we could drive. We ate lunch, fed the baby and ran to Walmart for a new tire. It is a very standard, common tire so they had it in stock (thank you, Lord!). $75 and an hour later we were all patched up and on our way to my parents house for the afternoon. There wasn't any rim damage. Looks like I drove it when the air was very low and then it went completely flat sitting there overnight. Whoo Hoo! I wish all my life's problems worked out this easily. :)

Whew. What a crazy work week. What a crazy month! I know it's a little shorter, but where did February go exactly?!? It has been an eventful month for sure!
Little David just cut his 6th tooth! Yikes! What a big boy. This is the 4th one this month! He cut them on the 5th, 18th, 27th and 28th. That's 4 top teeth in just over 3 weeks! Whoa. He has also learned pincher control and some self feeding, high-5's, waves and slam dunks on his little basketball hoop this month. No wonder he's sleeping so well at night......
I will be a stay at home mom just one short week from now. I can't wait. I am really looking forward to having more time with my little man. I really miss him when I am away. It's getting harder and harder to leave him. David is finding it much harder to be home with him too. I can't really say that I blame him though. He gets up at 3am and goes to work, then comes home and has the baby by himself immediately. No time for lunch or down time or anything. I am gone for 7 hours at a time so that makes for a long day. I hope with me being home March will seem a bit slower. I can only hope! :)
I leave you now with my thought of the day: "Yikes! Spring is coming soon. I will have to start shaving my legs again for shorts season." Happy spring! :D

Car problems
Looks like we won't be going to church today- or anywhere else for that matter. :( We have a completely flat tire and we have to try somewhere to buy a new one - ON A SUNDAY. Who's open on Sunday?
David went out at 3:30 this morning to go to work and found that our car was undriveable. Bummer! He had to call a guy he works with to come pick him up. He only lives 3 or 4 minutes away so that wasn't a big deal. Just kinda annoying given the hour. Oh well, that's not the worst part. Looks like I might have driven it home from work like that last night! Yikes! I thought it may have looked a little low, but with all the snow in the parking lot I just couldn't tell. Then I thought it may have driven a little funny on the way home (a 20 minute drive), but with the snow and ice covered roads I just couldn't tell. I forgot to say anything when I got home so David didn't know until he went to work. Uh oh!
After his call to let me know what's happening this morning, I am really freaking out. I just ruined our one and only car! Yikes! Now, this isn't necessarily my fault. It could have gotten low over night. And even if it was low last night, that's ok as long as it wasn't completely out of air and on the rim. Who really knows at this point what happened.
At this point I must pause the story to brag about my hubby. He is the best hubby in the whole wide world. He is not the least bit concerned that I drove home like that. He doesn't care that if I did that means I could have caused more damage than just the tire. He isn't even upset at the fact that I knew something might have been wrong and I got in and drove anyway. You know what he said? "It doesn't matter. It was a rear tire and those are hard to tell anyway. And the snow made it even harder. I understand."

Choking is for babies
My son never ceases to amaze me. He can learn so quickly - and without me directly showing him a thing! How do they do that?!?!?
Thursday night at life group, I was giving him some baby puffs. These are little, melt in your mouth, flavored bits of puffed grain. They look something like edible pieces of styrofoam. Anyway, I was giving these to him and he was choking and gagging on the whole pieces so I was having to break them up into smaller bits that he could easily swallow and not choke on if he wasn't going to chew. I sat there wondering how much longer it would be until he could eat the whole thing and get some to his mouth on his own. He can pick them up now (with his awesome pinchy pinchers!) but he doesn't know what to do after that. He usually plays with it so long that it starts to dissolve and stick to his grimy little hands and he "loses" them. He's tried a couple of times but so far has had no success. He can push them back into his mouth if they start falling out though.
Friday morning he woke up with a new outlook on life and decided that choking on puffs is for babies and he won't be doing that anymore. He can all of a sudden eat them whole! What the heck!?! Where did this come from? He has done so well since then that I'm leaving all his food a bit chunkier and giving him bits to chew on. He's doing really well. So far I have mashed a banana and an avacado with a fork instead of using our blender and he loved it.
Before I know it he'll be using a fork and spoon......

2 weeks notice
Whoo Hoo!!! I did it! I put in my 2 weeks notice today at the bakery. I will officially be done working on March 6th and will become a proud SAHM (stay at home mom). :D Yay! We are so happy. This really relieves a lot of stress from David and I. We are completely burnt out with life right now. We are looking forward to having time to get stuff done around the house and spending more time with little David. Not to mention seeing each other a little bit! Right now we only have about 1/2 hour to see each other before I go to work. I can't wait to be with him for a while! :)

Isn't that just peachy?
I finally made time yesterday to do the dishes! Yay! I get a gold star. :) One point for Mom. There were soooo many that had backed up. Where do they all come from? Do they multiply in the darkness of night??? We had them piled everywhere. They were so high in the sinks that we couldn't even get to the faucet for a glass of water. :) Yikes. That's embarassing. I should have left that out. HA! Anyway, I entered the kitchen on a misson. I had to do them quickly, while the little one was down for a nap. I don't know about you, but I like a little challenge every now and then. It really gets the blood pumping. :)
I had to work today so as soon as I got up this morning I started getting my things ready to leave. I had everything set for my breastpump, I had extra bottles and I had a snack for my break. I was doing great. It was only 7:45am and I didn't work until noon. The last thing I grabbed to pack was a travel coffee cup to get something to drink when I got to work. I was just starting to hear little David fuss in the living room so I quickly grabbed the first freshly washed cup I saw in the dish drainer and stuffed it in my bag.
So I'm feeling pretty good all morning. Everything is going well with the boy (even though he cut his 4th tooth this morning), I'm really looking forward to seeing David when he gets home from work, and I'm taking care of me (I ate breakfast AND brushed my teeth!). AND I was still in a good mood when I got to work. Whoa. Good day!
I pulled out my cup first thing to fill it up and get a drink (for the first time in a couple of hours cuz I was busy with the baby). I was setting it back down on the table after my first sip when I saw it. A big globbly gloopy mess stuck in the handle of my cup. The old me would have been grossed out, but not now. The Mommy me can handle anything. I inspected it for a minute. I was pretty sure I knew what it was. I grabbed a twist tie and picked at it for a minute. Yep. Suspicion confirmed. It was indeed baby food. Peaches to be exact. Since the kitchen was such a mess we couldn't rinse things very well. A big glob of leftover peaches from David's breakfast had lodged itself in the handle of my cup and dried to a wonderful crusty matter before I did the dishes. I was in a hurry so I didn't notice it there when I washed it.
It all took me back to one of David and my's first dates after having little David. We were going to drop him off at my mom's then head to the beach and have dinner. We were running late and I was getting very frustrated and then the baby decided to poop. Great! He was only a couple on months old at this point so his poop was really watery and thin. I was going quickly and hurrying because I was frustrated and I sprayed a little poop on my tan shorts. I didn't notice this until the middle of dinner (of course!). *ahh! big sigh* Good memories.
So for all the mothers out there who joined the mommy club before me, I salute you for everytime you have gone for a romantic date with your husband only to find poop on yourself or had baby food stuck to your water glass or found out at 3am what cleaners will take a poop stain off a white painted wall (that's another good story). For all the ladies yet to join the club, enjoy the time you have. And rest up - it's an adventure!

Happy Valentines Day!
Hello friends! Happy Valentines Day to all of you!
David and I are now completely moved in to our new apartment now and we are mostly settled in. :) It is quite a process! We have been working very hard to get things unpacked as quickly as we can. Living in a sea of cardboard boxes is no fun! I have much more time now to update you all on the goings on of our family and I will try my best to do so. Little David has grown soooo much lately and has learned so many new things! It's crazy how fast they pick up on some of those things! I can't wait to share all of our news with you!
